Memos, tasks, and lists: dictate, find, check off

A memo is a note, a task is a note with a deadline, a list is a card where you check off lines. All three are created by speaking and can be found on the left page.

What XNeuronal stores, and where

Say "note that the gate code is 1234": that's a memo. Say "I need to call the plumber before Friday": that's a task, with its date. Say "add milk to my groceries": the shopping list is created if it doesn't exist, otherwise the line is added.

Everything can be found on the left page, the memos and tasks page: swipe the home screen to the right, or ask aloud "show me my tasks."

A card can also be edited manually

Open a card and touch its text: it can be corrected with the keyboard. A list item can be checked with your finger, renamed, or removed. What you change manually is just as valid as what you dictate.

Create and manage a list

How do I create a shopping list and add things to it?

  1. Hold the microphone and say "add avocados and bread to my groceries." The list is created with the first item.
  2. Later, say "check off the bread" or "remove the avocados": only the relevant line moves, never the whole card.
  3. In the store, open the list and check items with your finger: it also works offline, the card updates when the connection returns.

How do I find a note I dictated a month ago?

  1. Ask for it in your own words: "what did I tell you about the portal?". XNeuronal searches by meaning, not just exact words.
  2. Or swipe to the memos page and type a word into the search bar at the top.
  3. A card opens; touch it to read it in full or correct it.

Turn a note into a task

I dictated a note, I want it to ring on a certain date

  1. Simply say "remind me about this Thursday at 9am" right after dictating it, or open the card and add a date.
  2. The due date is added: the card moves to tasks and the calendar, and it rings at the appointed time.

Mark as done

What happens to a completed task?

  1. Say "that's done for the plumber" or check off the task with your finger.
  2. It leaves the active list and joins your Accomplished items. Nothing is deleted: to delete, go to Settings › Memory › Clear.

Does it really remember everything I say?
It sorts out what's useful on its own. From a single sentence, it can create multiple memories: a reminder, an anniversary date, the connections between the people you mention. And it brings them back to you at the right time.
