Why We Removed Tabs

Most productivity apps start with a simple principle: more screens, lists, and settings mean a more powerful user. Experience shows the opposite. We built XNeuronal around a radical belief: a single surface, and a memory that organizes for you.

The Hidden Cost of Navigation

Every tab, every folder, every list is a promise of control. But it's also a debt: you have to decide where to put things, remember where you put them, and navigate to find them again. This invisible work is called navigation load. You don't see it in a demo, but it accumulates with every use. After a few weeks, the tool meant to organize you becomes just one more thing to organize.

The Bet on a Single Surface

We approached the problem in reverse. What if the interface no longer served to organize, but only to speak? You say what's on your mind. The assistant understands, structures, and makes the information disappear until it becomes useful again. No tree structure to maintain, no menu to learn. An orb that listens, and that's it.

What This Demands of Memory

Removing tabs isn't hiding complexity, it's shifting it. If the user no longer organizes anything, then the memory must be smart enough to find "the number of the osteopath I met on the stairs" without any label ever having been applied. That's the whole point of our neuron engine: a memory that connects, remembers context, and retrieves at the right time.

Less Screen, More Attention

An interface that fades away gives you back your attention. You no longer spend your time categorizing your life into boxes: you live it, and you entrust it aloud. The rest is our job.
